I’m going to Hawaii this Thursday with my dearest sister. It came just in time. The daily grind of work and anticipation for my fall quarter in college were wearing down on me. It’s time to get out and away from the major city and smell the fresh flowers.
FYI, I am a cashier at a produce stand. Yesterday, I had a peculiar experience at work. While ringing up a customer with two kids, the little girl (about 3) in her Dad’s arms looks at me with these gorgeous blue eyes. She asks,”What is that?” As she looks slightly behind me and up a bit. I asked her what she meant but she just stared, almost nervous. I was confused. On their way out, she looks back, stands there, says my name (I told her it), and stares again. Then they leave.
I thought about it, mostly being confused. Then it dawned on me. What if she saw something I wasn’t seeing? Kids are completely open. Many of them see the Other Side often but dont make anything of it. Its “just their imagination”. Think of how many times you dismissed something as just your imagination, when it didn’t feel like it? Too many for me! Really makes me wonder about that little girl.
Another experience I had was today. I had a silly kids’ song end up in my head while i was sorting some fruit.
Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream
. I thought to myself how weird that was, to have that randomly pop into my head. But really! Just think about it. Maybe just…go with the flow, perhaps? 🙂
Aside from my little experiences, back to Hawaii. Ill be gone for a week, so its no big deal here on WordPress. I wanted to let you know, though. I also want to let you know that you’re all in my thoughts, whoever you are. Even if I haven’t met you. I hope you find the time to relax on this Labor Day, as well as upcoming days. You deserve some time off. Life gets hard sometimes, but remember; just keep swimming, just keep swimming…
Be like water.
